Now the kitchen is really starting to take shape! Okay, perhaps it is not completely obvious just yet...
Anyway, this shot shows the gaping hole where the furrdown used to be. I think at this point in the remodel job I started to get that sinking feeling like, "Oh crap... what have you gotten yourself into?" For better or for worse, once you get into a project like this, it's do-or-die. Sink or swim. No turning back. So, suck it up and move on I guess.
If you notice towards the right-hand side of the hole where the furrdown was, you may notice a sort of black line that is extending from the attic down towards the side wall. This was a large piece of electrical wiring. This is not the best angle to see, but this wire was run through the furrdown itself, and pulled fairly snug to boot. Without much slack to move it around, at this point in the game I was a bit concerned with how that wire would be moved.
To the left of the furrdown hole, you can notice a similar problem, but this time with the white PVC vent pipe that extends from the wall into the attic. We'll come back to this later...
