Another shot of installing new radiator hoses. It helps to have a long, thin flat-headed screw driver and new screw clamps for the new hoses.

Yet another (not so good) picture of installing new radiator hoses.

After the water pump is installed, you'll need to put the 4-bolt pulley on. I did not get a new pulley wheel for this — the old one is just a piece of metal, and it was in good shape. Again, you'll want a shop manual to tell you the torque values for this component.

Here's what the pulley looks like as it goes onto the water pump. Note that the inset side goes towards the engine block.

Here, I'm putting a new fan clutch in. Note that I do this before bolting on the pulley to the water pump. Honestly I can't remember why I did this, but I think as you bolt the pulley on, it tightens down and holds the fan clutch in place.

The new fan clutch is now installed — to get the bolts on, you'll need a really flexible wratchet setup.

This controls the tension on the belts that drive the water pump. You'll (again) need to consult the shop manual so to see how much tension to place on the drive belt. Also, note that loosening this is one of the first steps in disassembly.

Here's the completed job — pulley system back in place, new water pump installed, new fan clutch, new radiator hoses, etc. Actually, at the top right of the picture, I still have one hose to install, but I left it out for the sake of a better picture.

Now that the water pump replacement is complete — celebrate! If you don't live in Texas and/or haven't had a Lone Star Beer before, that's a big shame. I highly recommend it. Think PBR, but more Texas.
