For those of you that live in Texas, I highly recommend Wimberley Four Wheel Drive as your Landcruiser specialists. They work on the FJ40, FJ60, 80, and all of the other bizarre models you may have come across. They recently installed a 5-speed transmission in my FJ60. It's absolutely the most impressive modification I've ever experienced on the Landcruiser.
